Lime Plaster Fine
A striking Venetian-style finish, at a fraction of the cost of comparable European plasters.
A natural plaster that combines timeless beauty with 21st-century technology, made to outperform any traditional plaster on the market today.
A colored finish coating, integrally colored with liquid mineral-oxide pigments — the more it is trowelled, the higher the polish.
Manufactured in the United States, it is an ideal exterior and interior finish for today's applicator or homeowner.

Technical details
For specifiers and applicators. The product data sheet above carries all of it.
The numbers
- Nominal thickness
- 1/32″ – 1/16″
- Strength
- Not weight-bearing
- Coverage
- One 30-lb bag covers 160 – 210 sq ft, depending on substrate smoothness
- Packaging
- 30-lb bag
- Standard colors
- 24
Applying it
- Temperature
- Over 40°F (4.5°C) and rising, and less than 100°F (38°C).
- Substrate
- Do not apply to frozen or thawing substrates.
- Protection
- Use sun shades and wind screens during initial cure.
- Rain
- Do not apply if precipitation is expected within 48 hours, unless the work can be adequately protected.
- 01Place 2 quarts of cool potable water in a clean plastic bucket.
- 02Add the liquid pigment, making sure all of it is used, then a further 3 – 4 quarts of water.
- 03For Lime Plaster Fine, 7 – 7.5 quarts of water in all is ideal.
- 04Blend in the dry material gradually with a low-speed mixing drill, adding small amounts of clean water to the desired consistency.
- 05Let the material set about 10 minutes, then remix for 90 seconds before use.
- 06Use the same amount of water in every batch — water changes drying and curing time, and with them the final color.
- 01Apply the first pass tightly, with moderate trowel pressure.
- 02Once the first coat has dried, apply the second with less pressure, to the desired thickness and texture.
- 03When the material is beginning to dry, it is ready for finishing — more trowelling gives a higher polished finish.
- Method
- Usually applied by trowel in a two-coat application; it can also be sprayed and back-trowelled.
- Primer
- Arcusstone Primer, or Bonding Agent, is recommended — not required — over new non-porous surfaces or where adhesion is a concern.
- Clean-up
- Clean tools and inadvertent applications immediately with water and a scrub brush, rinsing with clean water; once dry, mechanical means may be needed.
Sealing and maintenance
- Seal
- Lime Plaster Fine must be sealed with the Arcusstone Penetrating Water Repellent.
- Wet locations
- Wet locations require the finish to be properly sealed.
- Exterior and interior
- Sealed inside and out — the data sheet says this finish must be sealed.
- Before sealing
- New coating cures a minimum of 48 hours. The sealer goes on in two applications, wet on wet, for maximum penetration, protection and warranty.
- Color and texture
- Sealing does not alter the color or texture of the coating.
- Warranty
- Arcusstone warrants every product to conform to its current published specifications at the time of shipment.
- The full system
- Every guarantee covers the full Arcusstone system — primer, finish and sealer together.
Storage and shelf life
- Store on pallets under cover, not exposed to weather.
- Do not stack more than 2 pallets high.
- Do not allow contact with liquids or precipitation.
- Store in a cool place out of direct sunlight, and rotate stock.
- Shelf life: 1 year in unopened bags from the stamped date of manufacture.
